This is a fun novel about two botched heists. The narrator and protagonist is a life-long robber who has helped pull off countless heists as a ghostman, someone who’s job revolves around being unknowable. The book kicks off with someone from his past calling a favor he owes because of his role in the catastrophic failure of a job a few years back. He has to salvage a casino robbery that went, almost hilariously, off the rails. The story interleaves his investigation of the casino job and the failed heist from his past. The ghostman’s inner monologue has this corny intensity that made me roll my eyes frequently, but I enjoyed the story enough to finish the book.
