This is Willa Cather’s first novel. It follows a the life of a prominent engineer through an affair with an old lover. Cather’s style in this book feels more posh than how I remember her other books, which tended to be more plain. I didn’t dislike this book, though. It has me excited to read some of the other Cather titles I’ve found recently.
