I gobbled this up.
This book follows Elliot Kane, an MI6 field operative, on his search for his colleague and lover when she abbrubtly goes rogue.
The story is set mostly in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan.
The plot moves quickly as Elliot zigzags through the tense political climite in Central Asia and eventually finds himself caught up in an elaborate (and messy!) psyop that nearly kicks off a global military conflict.
That last detail might technically count as a spoiler, but I don’t think knowing it would have meaningfully diminished my enjoyment of this book at all.
I’m looking forward to reading more books by Harris— I think this book even has a sequel already.
